A silent retreat devoted to exploring how it is possible to live a contemplative way of life in the midst of today's world. Closely following his book The Contemplative Heart, James Finley will first provide a basic way of understanding what a contemplative way of life is. The emphasis will then be given to the practical, day-by-day ways in which we can cultivate more habitual contemplative awareness of the God-given Godly nature of our daily lives. Time will be given for group meditation, personal reflection and discussion of the themes presented.
The topics covered in the conferences include:
What does it mean to live a contemplative way of life?
Our daily life as a monastery without walls.
Meditation as way of fostering the transformations of our mind and heart.
Discerning that which hinders our ongoing spiritual fulfillment.
